Funny story about this one...
Liz Fielding is one of my favorite authors (and a wonderful woman. I just love her! I wish she'd come stateside more often). So, of course, if I see her books, I buy them. I typically try to buy them as they come out, but sometimes I miss one.
So there I was, looking in a thrift store for something totally unrelated (I needed a mason jar, ONE mason jar, not the twelve pack you see in stores), and of course, you know me, I can't pass by the book section without stopping to take a peek. Well, since I *do* buy by author, and I couldn't risk missing out on one of her books, I bought it. Fortunately for you guys, I already have it. And if I'm really honest, I'll admit that I was pretty sure I had it when I bought it, because the story sounded familiar. Having re-read it, I can assure you that I love this book.
My shaky memory is your gain. Post a comment this week about things you look for when browsing for books and what makes you buy one. Winner will be drawn this weekend.

Danica, buying my book once makes you a star. Buying it twice -- a total constellation!
I hope you found your mason jar. I hate multi-buys and bogofs, too. I'd so much rather have the one single thing I want at half price!
Danica, I'm with you. I'm a total fan of Liz's books. I'd enter your contest, but I've already read it!
Nice to find another Christian reading and writing romance!
The first thing I look for are books by favorite authors I don't already own. If I'm browsing, looking for something new, the title and back cover copy have to grab me.
Dito Fiona...I love Liz's books but I've already read (and loved) this book! Otherwise, I'd be all over this contest. LOL
Hi Danica,
I just came over from the TA boards - I love this contest idea!
Yes, I do tend to look for favorite authors, but I also have some themes I look for too. And if I have time to actually browse, I just look through the middle of the book & grab it if it looks good!
Danica,
I browse by author too, favorites or recommended.
Sometimes I simply browse a section, like romance, picking up anything that catches my eye. An eye-catching cover--not necessarily glossy and colorful--combined with a great blurb may cause me to buy new-to-me authors.
Patricia
I go along with the majority - I browse for an author I like. Then I browse by the title and finally by the blurb on the back.
Liz, of course I buy your books! And yes, it drives me nuts to have to buy all that stuff. I found a jar that'll work, but not what I wanted.
Thanks Fiona!
Tori, I'm the same way. But alas, I usually don't get past the ones I know and love. There's too many!
Jana, I loved it too!
L, glad you stopped by! Oh yeah, I like certain themes too.
Patricia, I've never been much of a cover girl.
Ellen, it seems we all know and love what we know and love. :) Thanks for stopping by!
I too tend to look for authors that I know first. Then I guess the cover gets my attention. After that it's definitely the blurb in the back.
Danica, I love the Steeple Hill line "Love Inspired" and look for Large Print books. Please enter me. Thanks Melody msproule1225@gmail.com
